Fuddruckers is an American-owned fast food restaurant chain based out of Houston, Texas. The company was founded by Philip Romano in 1977, because he wanted to give the world a better burger.  Now they have over 100 franchised stores across the US, Canada and Puerto Rico.  They are still known for their hamburgers and grind the meat and toast the buns on site.  Becoming a Fuddruckers staff member means knowing how to cook and how to balance efficiency and friendliness.

Fuddruckers Interview Tips

Job interviews are difficult to get used to, because each one is different.  Sometimes they are one-on-one, or in a group and sometimes completely over the telephone.  However, with a few interview tips, you can be ready for any kind of interview.

Tip # 1.  Choose your location.  If you are having a phone interview, make sure that you are in a quiet environment where you can concentrate.

Tip # 2.  Show your interest.  Even as the interviewer is asking you questions, ask some questions of your own.

Tip # 3.  Watch your mannerisms.  Interviewers can be quickly turned off if the volume of your voice approaches yelling or if you tend to move your arm around a lot when you talk.

Following these tips can help you stand out, no matter which type of interview you are involved in.

Fuddruckers Interview Questions

Answering interview questions and even discussing them a bit with the interviewer is key to getting the job you want.

  • Why would you like to work at Fuddruckers?
  • What kind of food do you like?
  • Have you ever been in a fight with a customer and how did you deal with it?
  • What would you do if you caught another co-worker stealing?
  • What would you do if one of the cooks got sick and you were asked to help in the kitchen even if you don’t know anything about cooking?

Fuddruckers Interview Process

Fuddruckers usually has a two-stage interview process.  Once you hand in your application or apply online, a hiring manager will contact you to set up the interview.  The first stage will always be a telephone interview, which is sometimes followed by a one-on-one interview with the store’s manager or assistant manager.

The interviews are usually rather short, no longer than 15 minutes and the interviewer will most likely focus on your background and work history.  During the process, they may ask for a background check and/or drug test.  Depending on which position you are interviewing for, you might be asked to show your proficiency in the kitchen.
